A Note of Thanks

Last night was so much fun for me! I visited with my good friend Paula and we stamped for a few hours. Well, we talked more than we stamped, but it was great! Paula is a true inspiration to me and is the reason I became a demonstrator with Stampin' Up!

The card I created was inspired by one that I saw in the newest SU! magazine. I used my new favourite stamp set, Circle Circus and went with the black and white theme. I LOVE how it turned out! Paula created an awesome birthday card too, that I can't wait to CASE.

Simiply Sketch Challenge #8

Here's a cute little card I created from a sketch challenge by Heather Summers. I'm so thankful for Heather's challenges because being new, I really enjoy getting a "jumpstart" on creating cards. Part of the idea of this card came while I was blog hopping. I saw a beautiful card created by Andrea Walford and loved how she used the Sweet Pea paper without the need for stamping! I added a little sparkle with the brads.. Hope you like it!

Colour Challenge #7 from Simply Stars!

Life has been so busy lately, that I haven't had a lot of time for stamping. Here is a card I created from the colour combo challenge that Heather Summer's put out to her Simply Stars team (to which my upline Paula Ballard belongs). The challenge was to use Pink Passion, Old Olive and Basic Black. I was excited to open up the pack of DSP I received with the level 3 hostess set I received and it couldn't have been a better match!

Simply Sunday Sketch!

About a week ago, my brother-in-law Mike had hip replacement surgery. I'm headed over today for a visit and thought I'd use this weeks Design Challenge to create a card for him. I realized as I was making it, that "man cards" are hard to do!! Haha!! I'm sure he'll love it, even if it is a bit "pretty"!

To create the card:

I used Kraft cardstock for the base along with some Tempting turquoise and Whisper White. I also used my new polka dot folder from SU! LOVE IT!! The stamp is Asian Artistry. While making this card, I realized that I'm in need of some "Get well" stamp sets! I decided to use the Vintage Labels from the Sale-a-bration catalogue along with the co-ordinating punch. The DSP is Pink Flamingo. The finishing touch was a designer button in Real Red.

Hope you like it!
